Shantorya Jones is a native of Montgomery, AL, raised in Ramer, AL. She attended the prestigious George Washington Carver Senior High School where she graduated with honors in 2009. She set off to originally complete her degree at Alabama State University until the passing of her father placed a dent in her journey. Nevertheless, she NEVER GAVE UP! She received her associate’s degree in general education from Trenholm College in 2020, her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Auburn University Montgomery in 2022 and will be receiving her master’s degree in education in December from AUM as well. As a 5th grade mathematics teacher, she receives great pleasure observing the works of her educating methods. Her greatest teaching joys come from watching her scholars' motivation increase in mathematics as their passion for learning mathematical concepts skyrocket. Outside of educating her scholars, she’s the proud business owner of Craf’Tee Creations. Shantorya serves as the National Administrator of the wonderful Christian sorority, Tau Rho Mu, under the leadership of Dr. Tammie McCurry, a member of the Junior Executive Board of Child Protect, and one of the dance coaches for Millbrook Middle School.
Shantorya is very family and friend oriented and enjoys time spent with loved ones. She lives life by one of her favorite scriptures, Jeremiah 29:11 and her favorite quote is: “Success can’t be measured unless you first try!”
